February is "I Love to Read Month"

This past week I had the opportunity to read a book to the grade 4 and 5 classes of Dalhousie School in Winnipeg.  It was great to see the kids really interested in books and reading.

I explained that in a job like radio, that’s all we do is read.  We read newspapers and magazines, websites and blogs before we go on the air.  Plus not to mentions scripts and commercials that we read out loud to our producers.  It might not seem like a reading profession, but I can assure you that the more you read the better you are on the air. And as I told the kids at Dalhousie School….if you want answers to anything….LOOK IN A BOOK!!!

I noticed that Obby Kahn was in the other room reading.  The kids were a lot more excited to see him….and frankly so was I.
