Tonight would have marked the 34th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony.

Unfortunately, like many current events the ceremony had to be postponed. That doesn’t mean these rockers don’t deserve to be honored though.

The class of 2020 is made up these legendary performers and musical contributors:

The Doobie Brothers

Long overdue for induction, The Doobie Brothers have been eligible for the Rock Hall since 1996. The band has three multi-Platinum, seven Platinum, and 14 Gold albums under their belt. Additionally, their ‘Best of the Doobies’ album earned them a rare RIAA Diamond certification. The Doobie Brothers have sold more than 48 million albums worldwide.

T-Rex

Sadly, Bill Legend is the only surviving member of this influential Glam Rock band. It’s likely a mash-up of various rock legends would have helped with the bands induction. Elton John, U2 and Joan Jett all appear on the upcoming T-Rex tribute album, AngelHeadedHipster. T-Rex sold 16 million + records in less than a year and a half. Roughly four percent of all singles sold in the UK during that period were theirs.

As surprising as it was for front man Trent Reznor, Nine Inch Nails’ induction isn’t lacking the credentials. Even though Reznor has criticized the Rock Hall in the past, NIN absolutely deserves to be lining its regal halls. With over 20 million albums sold worldwide and a pair of Grammy’s, the band has solidified their place in the Hall.

Depeche Mode

Also surprised to be included this year is Depeche Mode. As disappointing as it is to not see all five of Depeche Mode’s most prominent members together at last at the ceremony, their induction is undeniable. The band has released countless albums on their way to selling over 100 million records. Additionally, they’ve played to well over 30 million fans worldwide.

Also being inducted this year are Whitney Huston, Notorious B.I.G, Irving Azoff and Jon Landau.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to watch the ceremony tonight. Thankfully, we can toss on our favourite record from any one of these deserving inductees, and rock on.
