Myles Goodwyn, the legendary Canadian musician and songwriter who shot to stardom as the lead singer of April Wine, has died at age 75.

His publicist Eric Alper said Goodwyn died Sunday in Halifax. No cause of death was announced.

Myles Goodwyn was a Canadian musician and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist, main songwriter, and founding member of the rock band April Wine. Born on June 23, 1948, in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada, Goodwyn has been a prominent figure in the Canadian rock music scene.

April Wine was formed in 1969, and Myles Goodwyn played a key role in shaping the band’s sound and direction. The band achieved considerable success both in Canada and internationally. Some of April Wine’s most well-known songs include “Just Between You and Me,” “Roller,” “Sign of the Gypsy Queen,” and “I Like to Rock.”

Myles Goodwyn’s songwriting often explored themes of love, relationships, and the human experience. His distinctive voice and the band’s energetic performances contributed to their popularity during the 1970s and 1980s.
